Listen to the Corresponding Podcast Episode:
In this exciting episode of the 50 Not Finished podcast, I had the pleasure of interviewing Joanna Strober, the visionary founder of Midi Health. Joanna’s journey is an inspiring reminder that it’s never too late to create meaningful change, and her story is filled with bold moves and big impacts.
After starting her career in law and then venturing into the world of investing, Joanna eventually became an entrepreneur in her 50s, launching a company designed to address a major gap in healthcare: the lack of quality care for women in midlife and beyond. Midi Health focuses on providing accessible healthcare for women experiencing menopause and perimenopause—critical stages of life that are often overlooked by traditional healthcare providers.
If you've been following along my journey at all, you know how much I love Midi Health! It's all about helping women, especially women in midlife and beyond with our unique and specific health considerations that most traditional doctors just don't know a lot about. Perimenopause and menopause is not just about hot flashes and not sleeping. It is about real health concerns that if not addressed, can lead to things down the line that can be quite detrimental to our longevity.
Throughout the episode, Joanna opens up about her non-linear career path, which includes starting and selling a successful child weight-loss company. But it was her own experiences and the realization that women’s healthcare in midlife was severely lacking that fueled her passion to start Midi Health. She saw that far too many women were suffering in silence, dealing with issues like anxiety, hair loss, sleep disturbances, and the long-term impacts of estrogen loss without proper guidance or care.
Be Proactive About Your Health
One of the key takeaways from our discussion is the importance of being proactive about your health in midlife. Perimenopause and menopause aren’t just about managing hot flashes and sleepless nights—they’re about addressing real, underlying health issues that can have long-term consequences if ignored. Heart, bone, and brain health all play a role, and Midi Health is dedicated to helping women navigate these challenges with expert, individualized care.
As women in our 50s and beyond, we don’t have to accept a decline in health as inevitable. Joanna Strober’s vision for Midi Health is all about giving us the tools to stay vital, informed, and empowered to take control of our well-being for the long haul.
